Clarkstown residents can now get a much clearer look at the condition of the roads they drive every day, following the launch of a new townwide database showing the condition of all town-maintained roads.

Supervisor George Hoehmann and members of the Town Board announced the new system Wednesday afternoon as part of an update on road infrastructure and Highway Department accountability. The database is intended to make roadway information easier for residents to access while giving the town a more organized picture of where repairs and maintenance may be needed most.

The system was created through Clarkstown’s partnership with Pavement Management Group, a professional pavement-management firm that specializes in inspecting road conditions, helping municipalities prioritize road projects, and planning long-term infrastructure spending.

Beyond simply showing which roads are in better or worse shape, the database would also bring more transparency to the way roadwork decisions are made. Residents will be able to see the condition of streets across Clarkstown and better understand how the town is approaching repairs.

The new database also gives the Highway Department a more detailed tool for tracking conditions over time, helping officials compare needs across different parts of town and plan projects based on a broader set of roadway data.

For residents frustrated by potholes, worn pavement, or questions about when a street may finally be repaired, the database offers a more direct window into the condition of Clarkstown’s roads and the information shaping future road decisions.
