Rockland County commuters should prepare for several Metro-North service adjustments over the upcoming Labor Day weekend, including holiday schedules and additional service on the Port Jervis Line.
Metro-North's East of Hudson lines will operate with extra getaway trains on Friday, September 4, ahead of the holiday weekend. A normal Saturday schedule will be in effect Saturday, while trains will operate on a Sunday schedule on both Sunday and Labor Day, Monday, September 7.
Normal weekday service will resume Tuesday, September 8.
For West of Hudson riders, Metro-North will add an extra Port Jervis Line train on Labor Day. The train will depart Port Jervis at 4:05 p.m. and make all stops through Suffern before running express to Secaucus Junction and Hoboken.
The train is scheduled to arrive in Hoboken at 6:24 p.m., with a connecting train available at Secaucus for passengers traveling to New York Penn Station, arriving there at approximately 6:33 p.m.
The MTA is encouraging Rockland commuters traveling over the holiday weekend to check the latest schedules and service information before heading to their stations, as additional adjustments may be in effect.
