Chareidi Member of Knesset Moshe Gafni has been accompanied in recent months by a tight security detail from Shin Bet Unit 730, due to a credible threat on his life originating from Iran, Belaaz News can reveal.

MK Moshe Gafni serves as chairman of Degel HaTorah and as deputy chairman of the Knesset Finance Committee. He resides in Bnei Brak.

Notably, the Knesset has its own security unit, known as Unit “Oz,” tasked with protecting MKs under threat. In this case, however, Gafni is being guarded by Shin Bet’s Unit 730. The unit normally responsible for protecting the Prime Minister and the President.

This choice of security detail reflects the severity of the threat against Gafni, who has reportedly been asked to alter his daily routine, Belaas is told.

Sources reveal to Belaaz that security personnel now sweep any venue in advance of his arrival, and Gafni has been asked to change the location where he regularly withdraws cash from an ATM, among other adjustments.
