On Monday morning, a terrorist infiltrated the Ma’oz Yehuda outpost in Samaria, located in Area B, and stabbed an Israeli civilian who was near a Ranger-type vehicle.

The victim, around 20 years old, managed to move himself from the scene before receiving treatment. Security forces launched an immediate manhunt for the attacker.

MDA paramedic Aviel Mamalia, who treated the victim at the scene, described the response: “When we arrived at the scene we saw a young man about 20 years old, fully conscious, with multiple stab wounds on his body. We provided him with initial medical treatment together with an IDF medical team, and he was evacuated to the hospital in moderate-to-serious condition.”

Forces subsequently located the terrorist’s vehicle. During the pursuit, the terrorist attempted to stab IDF fighters as well, at which point the company commander shot and neutralized him.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded following the terrorist’s neutralization: “No terrorist has a hiding place. I commend our heroic fighters who pursued contact and neutralized the terrorist who carried out the attack in Samaria. I wish a complete and speedy recovery to the farm owner who was wounded in the attack. We will continue to eliminate terrorists, pursue those who send them, and destroy terror infrastructure in Judea and Samaria. Anyone who tries to threaten the State of Israel and its citizens will pay a heavy price.”

Defense Minister Israel Katz laid out a broader response plan: “Our policy in Judea and Samaria is clear — to pursue Palestinian terror with force, to develop and strengthen Jewish settlement, and to maintain security stability. Terror in Judea and Samaria is currently at its lowest level in decades, and we will take all necessary steps to prevent terror from rising again.” Katz added that Israel “will not allow a return to the reality of a prolonged intifada as in the past,” and instead will open “a comprehensive campaign against the Palestinian Authority and all terror infrastructure in Judea and Samaria” — including targeting senior operatives, evacuating residents of towns and villages from which terror attacks are carried out, eliminating terrorists, destroying terror infrastructure, and maintaining an IDF presence in evacuated areas. “Exactly as we did in the security zones in Gaza and Lebanon,” he said. “We will not allow a return to the reality of October 7, and we will ensure the security of Israel’s residents and communities everywhere.”

Yossi Dagan, head of the Samaria Regional Council, said: “A very serious attack. I expect a full encirclement of the area, a broad military operation, going house to house to collect weapons, and dismantling the infrastructure of terror supporters. I stand behind our IDF soldiers and command, and we are praying for the wounded man’s recovery.”
