Dr. Nechumi Yaffe, a Charedi researcher, is joining the HaTzibur HaCharedi party and will run for the 26th Knesset on its behalf. This marks the first time a Charedi party running for Knesset has added a woman to its list.

Dr. Yaffe (50) is a Jerusalem resident and mother of three, and a researcher in political psychology. Over the past year she has worked at Harvard University as part of a research project on the Charedi sector within the “Israel and the Regional Economy” initiative, alongside her role as a senior faculty member and researcher at Tel Aviv University.

In 2020, Yaffe was appointed special advisor on Charedi affairs to the National Security Council, where she focused extensively on poverty challenges within the Charedi community. Following the October 7th massacre, she established a Charedi emergency response center, through which tens of thousands of Charedi volunteers provided extensive support to evacuees from the Gaza border communities and to bereaved families.

Dr. Yaffe grew up and was educated within the Slonim Hasidic community in Jerusalem, and taught religious law and history at the “old” Charedi seminary as well as at Sniff. She also authored the history curricula used for 11th and 12th grade classes across Charedi seminaries generally.
