IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir visited soldiers at Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer who had been wounded in missions in Gaza and Lebanon. He met with commanders, soldiers, and medical personnel Tuesday, ahead of Rosh Hashanah this weekend.

Zamir toured the facility’s various departments, speaking to the troops about their injuries, recovery, and rehabilitation, as well as their healing journey. He thanked them for their courage and determination and for their service to the country. He also thanked the medical personnel at the hospital for their work in helping the soldiers on their road to recovery.

The IDF chief said he was moved by the sight of soldiers who had faced enemies in battle and now face procedures to recover from injuries sustained in those battles.

“I came to see you ahead of the new year, and I am moved by what I have seen here. There are troops here who stood on the front lines, led, and risked their lives in combat against the enemy. This is bravery in battle. Now, you are facing an operation that requires further bravery as you recover from your injuries,” Zamir said.

Zamir also expressed his appreciation and support on behalf of the IDF for the troops’ service and sacrifice and concluded with blessings for the new year.

“The entire IDF and I deeply appreciate your sacrifice and contribution. It is our duty to stand by you and accompany you throughout your rehabilitation journey. We are with you every step of the way,” he said.

“I salute you. May this be a better year: a year of security and hope, a year of unity and victory. A year in which you continue to stand strong and serve as a source of pride for the entire nation,” he added.
