A new school building has opened in Boro Park as the Vizhnitz school continues to expand.
The new nine-story building on 41st Street, next to the existing Vizhnitz school building, was completed in less than two years and is now being used for the new school year.
The 40,000-square-foot building has two underground floors and seven floors above ground, with 20 new classrooms, a large davening room and a spacious auditorium.
The new building is being used by the high school and preschool, while the existing building will now have additional space for the elementary school.
Construction began after the cornerstone-laying ceremony during Selichos of 5785, and the project moved ahead quickly over the past two years.
A Chanukas Habayis and kvias mezuzah is scheduled for next Tuesday, with the Vizhnitzer Rebbe of Boro Parkexpected to lead the event. Hundreds of parents and members of the Vizhnitz kehilla are expected to attend.
