EndJewHatred held a rally Tuesday evening near the Manhattan headquarters of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), marking the upcoming 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks while using the event to raise concerns about political extremism and antisemitism.

According to EndJewHatred, the rally was intended not only to remember the nearly 3,000 people killed on 9/11, but also to examine what organizers described as ideological movements that they believe can contribute to extremism.

The organization specifically focused its criticism on the DSA, arguing that aspects of the group’s platform and positions conflict with principles such as constitutional government, individual liberty and the rule of law. EndJewHatred has previously criticized the DSA over its positions concerning Israel and what the organization describes as its handling of Islamist extremism.

The rally was held near the NYC-DSA headquarters at 14 Jefferson Street, approximately 1.4 miles from Ground Zero, according to EndJewHatred.

Organizers emphasized that the event was not directed at any particular religion, describing it instead as a call to oppose extremism regardless of its political or religious source.

“Extremism disqualifies on the left and on the right,” EndJewHatred states in its description of the rally.

The organization also highlighted an interfaith component, bringing together Jewish, Christian and Muslim participants to commemorate the victims of 9/11 and emphasize the ability of Americans from different faith backgrounds to stand together in defense of a free society.

EndJewHatred describes itself as a grassroots movement focused on combating antisemitism and discrimination and says it rejects partisan political affiliations.
