The Skver kehilla in Williamsburg is expanding, with Bais Medrash Toldos Yaakov Yosef – Spencer entering into a contract to purchase a new building.
The news was shared on Friday, bringing excitement as the growing bais medrash moves toward having a permanent home. Since its founding, the shul has been in various rented locations.
The purchase is being made with the blessing and encouragement of the Skver Rebbe. The new building, located at 103 Walworth Street, is expected to be completed and prepared for use in the near future.
Plans call for a full renovation of the building. The first floor will feature a large bais medrash, while the lower level will include a mikvah. The second floor will have an ezras nashim and a bais horaah.
