Israeli security forces have located a man who was reported missing after voluntarily entering a Palestinian village in northern Judea and Samaria, according to a joint statement issued by police, the military, the Shin Bet and the Israel Prison Service.

The man, a 53-year-old resident of the northern settlement of Ariel, was found safe, security officials said.

Authorities did not disclose which Palestinian village the man had entered or where he was ultimately located.

Security forces from the various agencies began searching for the man overnight, according to an earlier statement. Police said the operation included a police helicopter as well as Metzada, the Israel Prison Service’s elite unit.

Meanwhile, WAFA, the Palestinian Authority’s official news agency, reported that Israeli forces entered the towns of Kifl Haris and Qira on Thursday morning. Both towns are located near Salfit, a larger Palestinian city situated adjacent to Ariel.

According to WAFA, Israeli forces deployed across several areas of the two towns while surveillance drones operated overhead.

The circumstances surrounding the man’s disappearance and his subsequent discovery were not immediately detailed by the security services.
