Germany Charges Seven Men in Alleged Hamas Weapons Plot

Sep 11, 2026·1 min read

Germany’s federal prosecutor said Friday that seven men in Berlin have been charged over alleged membership in Hamas and accusations that they prepared a serious violent act that could threaten the state. The case centers on an alleged effort to obtain weapons inside Germany.

According to the prosecutor, the suspects were allegedly acting under instructions from senior Hamas figures. Investigators say they obtained a fully automatic rifle, 13 pistols, and more than 700 rounds of ammunition in preparation for a potential attack in Germany or Austria around October 2025.

The alleged targets included Israeli representatives, Jewish people, and individuals viewed as supporters of Israel, according to prosecutors.

The charges relate to alleged Hamas membership as well as preparations for a serious violent crime that could endanger Germany’s security.

The case remains under investigation, and the allegations against the seven men have not been proven in court.
