Toldos Aharon Rebbe Meets Beit Shemesh Mayor, Seeks Expansion of Mosdos in Ramat Daled

Sep 11, 2026·3 min read

A rare and lengthy meeting took place between the Toldos Aharon Rebbe and Beit Shemesh Mayor Shmuel Greenberg, during which the Rebbe personally asked the mayor to assist with the continued expansion of the chassidus’ mosdos in Ramat Beit Shemesh Daled, including plans to establish an additional yeshiva for the growing community.

Toldos Aharon has long maintained a substantial presence in Beit Shemesh, and in recent years the kehillah has expanded significantly into Ramat Daled. The Rebbe is said to view Beit Shemesh, and particularly its rapidly developing neighborhoods, as an important center for the future growth of the chareidi community.

Three active Toldos Aharon batei medrash have already been established in Ramat Daled, along with a mikvah, representing a combined investment of approximately NIS 2 million. The facilities have become central gathering points for local Toldos Aharon families as the community continues to expand.

The Rebbe arrived in Beit Shemesh in the middle of Elul for approximately a week of rest. During his stay, he received chassidim each evening, offering his birchas hashanah ahead of Rosh Hashanah.

Among those who came to receive a blessing was Mayor Shmuel Greenberg, who was granted an unusually lengthy private audience at the Rebbe’s residence.

During their meeting, the Rebbe and Greenberg discussed the needs of the developing Toldos Aharon community in Beit Shemesh and the challenges accompanying its rapid growth.

Community leaders and askanim told the Rebbe that although Toldos Aharon does not participate in municipal elections, Greenberg has nevertheless worked with the kehillah and assisted its needs wherever possible.

The Rebbe warmly thanked the mayor for his efforts and blessed him that he should merit serving as a faithful and effective shaliach on behalf of the future of the chareidi community in the neighborhood.

In keeping with the custom during the days preceding Rosh Hashanah, the Rebbe then presented Greenberg with an apple and honey and wished him a shana tovah u’mesukah.

Following the exchange of blessings, the Rebbe and Greenberg continued their discussion privately.

During that closed-door conversation, the Rebbe personally raised the need to further expand and strengthen Toldos Aharon’s network of mosdos in Ramat Daled. A particular priority discussed was advancing plans for an additional yeshiva to serve the community’s growing number of families and bnei yeshiva.

The unusual meeting was seen within Toldos Aharon as another indication of the increasingly significant place Beit Shemesh occupies in the chassidus’ future plans, as its leadership looks toward further strengthening and expanding the Toldos Aharon presence in the city.
