Shoppers at the Walmart Supercenter on Larkin Drive are seeing major changes as the store undergoes an extensive renovation as part of Walmart’s statewide modernization program.
The Monroe location, at 288 Larkin Drive, is one of 24 Walmart stores across New York being remodeled this year, as the retail giant rolls out upgrades aimed at modernizing the shopping experience and improving both in-store and online services.
The renovation includes a redesigned store layout, updated departments and displays, and improvements intended to make it easier for customers to navigate the large Supercenter and locate products.
Technology is also a major part of the project, with Walmart expanding digital features that help shoppers find products inside the store and improving areas dedicated to online pickup and delivery orders.
Several departments are being refreshed, including apparel, produce, cosmetics, electronics, and the pharmacy. The pharmacy upgrades are expected to include more modern facilities and private consultation areas.
The Monroe project comes as Walmart undertakes renovations at more than 650 stores nationwide, part of the company’s broader effort to introduce its updated “Store of the Future” concept.
Despite the ongoing construction, the Monroe Walmart remains open to shoppers throughout the renovation.
