Major Bakertown Road Expansion Project Completed, Bringing Traffic Relief

The final layer of asphalt was paved last week along Bakertown Road, marking the completion of a major road expansion project aimed at improving traffic flow along the busy corridor.

As previously reported, the Village undertook the project to significantly widen the roadway and create additional travel and turning lanes. With the final paving now completed, motorists are already seeing a major difference compared to the congestion that previously characterized the road.

The newly expanded roadway now accommodates two lanes of traffic in key areas, with dedicated turning lanes at several locations. The added capacity is expected to make a significant difference, particularly during busy hours when traffic along Bakertown Road would frequently back up.

Crews were seen last week applying the final coat of asphalt, while aerial drone footage taken after the work was completed shows the newly widened and freshly paved roadway stretching through the area.

The completion brings to an end the main construction phase of the project and represents a major improvement for the many motorists who use Bakertown Road daily.

One final component of the project remains to be completed: the activation of the new traffic signals installed as part of the improvements. Once the new traffic lights are functioning, the expanded roadway and redesigned intersections will be fully operational.
