Leaders and dispatchers from Brooklyn Chaveirim recently got a closer look at how the city handles its own emergency calls, visiting the city’s 911 headquarters for a tour of the operation.
During the visit, the leadership saw how 911 calls are received, processed and sent to the appropriate emergency services. They were also able to see the systems and staff working behind the scenes to handle the large volume of calls coming into the city’s emergency system.
The visit provided the Chaveirim dispatchers with a firsthand look at the operation they often coordinate with while handling calls in the community. The tour also offered an opportunity to exchange insight and further strengthen coordination between volunteer dispatchers and the city’s emergency response system.
