Dolan-Backed Super PAC Launches New York Billboard Campaign Supporting Blakeman
A political action committee backed by New York Knicks owner James Dolan has launched a new statewide billboard campaign supporting Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman while targeting Gov. Kathy Hochul over New York’s population decline.
The $250,000 campaign by Strong and Safe New York features the message, “You Are Now Leaving NY (Like Everyone Else),” and promotes Blakeman as Hochul’s Republican challenger.
Hundreds of thousands have fled Hochul's unaffordable New York.

The billboards are being placed along major highways and routes leading out of New York, including areas near the Outerbridge Crossing, the George Washington Bridge, Interstate 287 in Rockland County, Interstate 84 near Pennsylvania, routes east of Albany toward Massachusetts, and roads near the Canadian border.
The campaign centers on New York’s population losses in recent years. The PAC argues that high taxes, energy costs and state policies have contributed to residents leaving for other states.
Hochul’s political opponents have also revived comments she made during the 2022 gubernatorial campaign, when she told supporters of Donald Trump and Republican candidates Lee Zeldin and Marc Molinaro to “jump on a bus and head down to Florida where you belong” and said they did not represent New York’s values.
Hochul later shifted her focus toward reversing New York’s population and tax-base losses, including encouraging wealthy former New Yorkers to return to the state.
