IDF Says Two Hamas Terrorist Commanders Killed in Gaza Airstrikes
JERUSALEM (VIN) — The Israel Defense Forces said Tuesday that two Hamas Terrorist commanders were killed in airstrikes in the Gaza Strip a day earlier, accusing both terrorists of helping rebuild the group’s fighting capacity in violation of a ceasefire.
One strike in Khan Younis killed Rafat Abu Zamar, whom the military identified as a company commander in Hamas’s operations headquarters. The IDF said Abu Zamar helped train Terrorists before the Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel and had recently continued training fighters and expanding Hamas capabilities.

A separate strike in Gaza City killed Muhammad Khader Fahmi Aghour, described by the military as a Hamas operative involved in weapons production.
The IDF said both men had been advancing attacks against Israeli troops and civilians while working to restore Hamas’s operational strength “in systematic violation of the ceasefire.” The military said the strikes were carried out to remove an immediate threat and that precision munitions and aerial surveillance were used in an effort to limit harm to civilians.

The announcement follows other recent Israeli operations in Gaza targeting Hamas commanders the military says have tried to rebuild infrastructure and plot attacks since the current ceasefire took hold.
