New Jersey ANCHOR Property Tax Relief Payments Begin Rolling Out Today
New Jersey has begun issuing its latest round of ANCHOR property tax relief payments, with distributions starting today, September 15, on a rolling basis.
Under the program, eligible homeowners with 2025 gross income of $150,000 or less can receive $1,500, while homeowners earning between $150,001 and $250,000 can receive $1,000.
Eligible renters can receive $450, while renters who were age 65 or older by December 31, 2025, can receive $700.
The New Jersey Division of Taxation says most recipients should receive their payment within 90 days of filing unless additional information is required.
Many eligible residents are being automatically filed based on information from their previous ANCHOR application. Residents who received last year’s benefit by direct deposit will generally have their 2025 payment sent to the same bank account.
Today is also the deadline for residents who received an ANCHOR Benefit Confirmation Letter to update their banking information, request a paper check, or notify the state that they are no longer eligible for the property listed on the letter.
Residents who were not automatically filed can still submit an application. The overall deadline to apply for the 2025 ANCHOR benefit is November 2.
