Rutgers and RWJBarnabas Health Launch New AI-Powered Healthcare Innovation Hub
Rutgers University and RWJBarnabas Health announced Tuesday the launch of a new technology and healthcare innovation hub powered by Amazon Web Services.
The Rutgers/RWJBarnabas Health Innovation Hub will bring together students, physicians, researchers, engineers and technology experts to develop new tools aimed at improving medical education, clinical care and healthcare delivery across New Jersey.
The partnership will use Amazon Web Services cloud computing and artificial intelligence technology to work on real-world healthcare challenges, ranging from research and medical training to patient care.
Students studying medicine, engineering, computer science, business and other fields will also have opportunities to participate in projects through the new hub.
Officials say the initiative is designed to accelerate the development of new technologies while preparing students to work in rapidly changing healthcare and technology fields.
RWJBarnabas Health is New Jersey’s largest academic healthcare system, while Rutgers operates medical, engineering and research programs across the state.
