Suspect in Home Break-In on Ross Street Arrested Following Shomrim Investigation

Yisroel R.

The man who was wanted after breaking into a home on Ross Street early Shabbos morning in Williamsburg nearly two weeks ago has now been arrested by the NYPD, with the assistance of Shomrim, following a thorough investigation.

The break-in occurred early Shabbos morning, September 5, at around 5:00 a.m., when the man entered a home while the family was sleeping after spending several hours searching the area for unlocked doors and windows. The incident prompted a swift investigation by Shomrim, which worked to identify and locate the suspect.

According to Shomrim, its units and IT team spent many hours tracking the man and were eventually able to locate him at his residence in the Bronx. Shomrim then worked in coordination with the NYPD, which apprehended the alleged suspect.

Shomrim had also linked the suspect to earlier incidents in Williamsburg, including a break-in at a home on Hooper Street about a month earlier, where more than $10,000 in valuables was reportedly stolen. He was also believed to have gone around checking doors, windows, porches, and other possible ways to enter homes in the neighborhood.

After the Ross Street break-in, Shomrim obtained a clear photo of the suspect and continued working to track him down. Williamsburg Shomrim thanks its units, IT team, and the NYPD for helping bring the matter to a conclusion, with the suspect now in custody
