BDE: Mrs. Zelma Nussbaum, a”h

YS GOLD

With heavy and broken hearts, we inform you of the petirah of Mrs. Zelma Nussbaum, a”h, an incredible woman from the Monsey community who valiantly and heroically fought a devastating illness. She was in her fifties and left behind a beautiful Torah family.

The nifteres hails from the illustrious Flohr family of Monsey, which carries a holy history of valiantly fighting to preserve their Yiddishkeit in their generations of living in America of yesteryear.

The nifteres was born into this illustrious family and raised in the spirit of uncompromising mesirus nefesh for every aspect of Yiddishkeit. She emerged from the Flohr home saturated with yiras Shomayim and ahavas Hashem, and she would imbue this spirit into her home.

She married, ybl”ch, Reb Dovid Nussbaum, a devoted mechanech renowned for his yiras Shomayim, ehrlichkeit, and meticulousness in mitzvos.

Together, they established an illustrious Torah home in Monsey, with beautiful Torah generations to their credit. The Nussbaum home was renowned for Torah, chessed, ehrlichkeit, and refinement—and this is all a credit to the nifteres and ybl”ch, her husband.

Mrs. Nussbaum was sadly diagnosed with a devastating illness just over a year ago, and was hospitalized before Rosh Hashanah. Her condition deteriorated over the last few days, and she returned her purified neshamah to its Maker on erev Shabbos Shuvah.

The loss is a devastating one for her beloved family and her many admirers, and for the Stoliner kehillah in Monsey and the Stoliner kehillah around the world.

The levaya is taking place at the Stoliner shul in Monsey at 3:00, and she will be brought to rest on erev Shabbos after Chatzos on the Old Monsey cemetery.

Yehi zichra baruch.
