Roads Near New Square Shopping Center to Be Repaved After Yom Kippur
By Y.M. Lowy
Repaving work is scheduled to begin Tuesday morning on several roads near the New Square shopping center, marking the final phase of a long-term drainage project.
The work will be carried out on Jefferson Avenue between Lincoln Avenue and Ostereh Blvd, as well as on Lincoln Avenue near its intersection with Jefferson Avenue.
Crews are expected to begin immediately after Yom Kippur and continue until Friday afternoon, before Yom Tov. The Village of New Square said the work is being completed at this time to meet a contractual deadline requiring the affected sections to be finished before Sukkos.
Traffic restrictions will be limited to the shortest time possible. Additional traffic controllers will be stationed in the area to help keep vehicles moving and minimize delays.
Drivers are asked to follow the directions of traffic personnel and refrain from parking along the affected streets from Motzaei Yom Kippur until the work is completed, including overnight.
