Village of Suffern Begins Road Milling and Paving Across Multiple Streets

Yisroel R.

The Village of Suffern is beginning a series of road milling and paving projects on Tuesday, September 22, with work scheduled across multiple village streets over the coming days and weeks, weather permitting.

The first phase of the project will take place from Tuesday, September 22, through Friday, September 25, beginning on Parkside Drive between Salem Court and Yorkshire Drive, followed by Forest Knoll Drive between Maplewood Boulevard and Parkside Drive, and Forest Drive between Woodland Drive and Cypress Road.

Additional streets scheduled for milling and paving include Pleasant Avenue from Cross Street to the end of the road, Washington Avenue from the railroad tracks to Route 202, Lexington Avenue from Crane Place to Chadick Place, and Meadow Avenue from West Maple Avenue through West Maltbie Avenue, Oak Terrace, Jersey Avenue, and the New Jersey state line. Exact dates for these additional roads will be announced as they become available.

During the initial phase, parking will be prohibited on Parkside Drive, Forest Knoll Drive, and Forest Drive. Residents are asked to move vehicles they will need access to out of driveways and parking lots while work is underway.

Alternative parking will be available on adjacent side streets, at the Leo Lydon building on Sylvan Way, and at the ballfields off Ramapo Avenue. Village officials said no parking tickets will be issued during the project and apologized for any inconvenience as crews work to improve local roads.
