Lakewood Police have released additional details regarding a shots-fired incident that Lakewood Alerts first reported late last night, when police were searching for a white sedan believed to be connected to shootings in both Lakewood and Howell.

According to police, officers responded at approximately 11:00 p.m. Monday to a residence on Massachusetts Avenue after receiving a report of gunfire on Sunset Road.

The reporting party told police he was driving behind a white four-door sedan when an occupant fired a single round toward his vehicle. Police said the sedan was believed to have been stolen in Lakewood earlier that evening.

A short time later, police received information that a vehicle matching the same description was reportedly involved in another shots-fired incident in Howell.

Lakewood Alerts reported on the developing incident late Monday night as police searched the Howell Lanes Pond area for the suspect vehicle.

The investigation remains active. Anyone who witnessed either incident or has information regarding the white sedan is asked to contact the Lakewood Police Department at 732-363-0200.
