Argentine President Javier Milei made a special stop in Far Rockaway on Tuesday afternoon, visiting Yeshiva Darchei Torah during his trip to New York for the United Nations General Assembly.

Milei, who has been a vocal supporter of Israel and the Jewish people, was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at the yeshiva and received a standing ovation from those gathered.

During the visit, Milei was presented with the prestigious “Ohev Yisrael” award, recognizing his strong support for Israel and the Jewish people.

The Argentine president is in New York for the 81st United Nations General Assembly and is scheduled to address the General Assembly on Wednesday. His New York itinerary also includes meetings with business leaders, economists and Jewish community figures.

For the 5 Towns community, Milei’s visit provided a unique opportunity to welcome a sitting world leader to Far Rockaway and publicly recognize his longstanding support for Israel.
