Yisroel R.
With the final Sukkos preparations in full swing across Monsey, Congressman Mike Lawler spent Thursday evening, Erev Sukkos, touring Daled Minim and shopping centers, getting a firsthand look at the bustling pre-Yom Tov atmosphere as residents made their final preparations for Yom Tov.
Congressman Lawler first visited Pomona, where he toured local shopping centers, including the famous Evergreen ‘uptown’ and witnessed the shopping side of the extensive preparations ahead of Yom Tov. From food and freshly prepared pastries to flowers, sukkah decorations, and other Sukkos necessities, while the store was packed with residents completing their final hectic shopping spree.
Congressman Lawler walked through the busy aisles, greeting shoppers and employees along the way, looked through the wide selection of Yom Tov products, and stopped frequently for conversations and interactions with members of the community.
And among all the Sukkos shopping, Lawler made sure not to miss one particularly popular item. The congressman picked up a copy of the famous mega Dee Voch Sukkos issue, joining thousands of local residents taking home the special Yom Tov edition ahead of Sukkos.
Lawler then visited the famous “Lev” Daled Minim Center at Tiferes Elka, accompanied by State Senator Bill Weber, where rows of Daled Minim filled the center as residents carefully searched for their desired sets ahead of Yom Tov. Lawler walked through the displays, viewing the different varieties of esrogim and lulavim and getting a closer look at the careful process that goes into selecting Daled Minim.
During the visit, Lawler and Weber spoke with vendors and shoppers and watched as residents examined esrogim and lulavim, checking the different options before making their final selections. The congressman took particular interest in the large variety on display and the unique preparations surrounding the mitzvah of Daled Minim, even picking out a Minim set of his own.
Following his visit to the Daled Minim Shuk, Lawler shared an exclusive Sukkos message with Rockland Daily viewers, wishing residents a happy Yom Tov and adding a timely hope for good weather.
“I would like to wish all Rockland Daily readers a very happy Yom Tov, I hope you have a wonderful Sukkos, and hopefully it doesn’t rain, but we want you to celebrate, to enjoy each other’s company, and I hope to see you there.”
