Teenager Injured in Holon Explosion as Police Investigate Suspected Criminal Attack
A 15-year-old teenager was wounded in Holon on Monday after an explosive device detonated, prompting Israel Police to open an investigation into the incident.
Israeli media reported that the teenager may not have been the intended target of the explosion.
Police said the teenager suffered moderate to serious injuries and was evacuated to a hospital for treatment. Magen David Adom reported that the victim was conscious when emergency responders arrived and received medical care at the scene before being transported to the hospital.
According to police, the incident is believed to have a criminal motive. N12 reported that a source familiar with the investigation said the explosion occurred near the residence of a person known to police as a criminal figure.
Police have begun investigating the circumstances surrounding the explosion and are working to determine who was responsible.
Liberman Responds
Yisrael Beytenu chairman MK Avigdor Liberman criticized the government following the explosion, saying that “the governance in the State of Israel is collapsing.”
He cited a series of recent security incidents as evidence of what he described as a broader breakdown in public safety, including “nonstop shooting in Rahat” and a rocket attack on a home in Jaljulya the previous week.
“Families in Israel are no longer safe even in their own homes,” he said. “The criminals are not afraid because they know that under the October 7 massacre government, there is no law and no justice.”
