Rav Moshe Hillel Hirsch, Rosh Yeshiva of Slabodka, issued unusually forceful remarks against Israel’s political left on Sunday, declaring that efforts must be made to prevent the left-wing camp from gaining strength.

The comments were delivered during a Simchas Yom Tov gathering in Modiin Illit for coordinators of Ichud Bnei Hayeshivos, headed by Yehuda Weissfish, who is slated to serve as a Degel HaTorah member of the Knesset.

Addressing the political and spiritual situation in Eretz Yisroel, Rav Hirsch directly linked the difficulties facing the country to the political left.

“The lack of Heavenly assistance that exists comes because of the left-wing side. We must, as much as possible, prevent the strengthening of the left,” Rav Hirsch said.

United Torah Judaism chairman MK Yaakov Asher was seated beside the Rosh Yeshiva, along with senior Degel HaTorah MK Yitzchok Pindrus.
