Pro-Palestinian Director Spike Lee Loses It After Fan Asks Him To Say “F— Palestine” During Selfie At Yankee Stadium
Filmmaker Spike Lee erupted during a confrontation with a fan before the Yankees-Red Sox playoff game at Yankee Stadium.
Lee had reportedly been posing for photos when a fan approached him for a selfie and asked him to say, “F— Palestine.”
Lee jumped to his feet and shouted, “Why’d you come over to me?” as people nearby stepped in. Security then intervened, telling the fan, “You’ve gotta go,” and escorted him from the area.
The confrontation comes months after Lee drew attention at the 2026 NBA All-Star Game, where he wore a keffiyeh-patterned sweater along with Palestinian flag imagery on his bag strap and Palestine pins.

The outfit attracted particular attention because Israeli star Deni Avdija was playing in the game, becoming the first Israeli selected as an NBA All-Star.

Lee later denied that his clothing was intended as a message against Avdija or Jews, saying the Palestinian imagery reflected his concern for Palestinian civilians.
