- Simchas Torah in Lakewood

This year, Simchas Torah in Lakewood was marked by rain throughout the day. At BMG, thousands gathered for Simchas Torah, with the Bais Aaron Bais Medrash packed wall to wall with many bochurim.

A high dais was constructed in front of the Aron Kodesh to honor the Roshei Yeshiva. Rav Malkiel Kotler Shlita was given the distinguished honor of Chosson Torah and Rav Yeruchom Olshin was honored with Chosson Breishis. Rav Shneur Kotler was honored with Shlishi. In addition, special memunim were appointed to ensure that any bochurim who were a bit tipsy remained outside. There were several layers of security and the Roshei yeshiva were surrounded during the dancing by a team of security. The Rowh ueshiva spoke during the hakafos and made leitzanus of smart phone use. There was earlier zmanim for Kris haTorah to receive aliyos.
