Jews KICKED OUT of March Commemorating 1936 Fight Against Fascism

Oct 6, 2026·2 min read

Jews were blocked from joining the Cable Street March in London Sunday, a march that commemorates the Battle of Cable Street in 1936, when thousands of London’s Jewish residents stood shoulder to shoulder with Irish dockers, trade unionists, and socialists in an anti-fascist march to stop the followers of Oswald Mosley, a British fascist politician, from marching through London’s East End.

When Jewish leaders tried to coordinate with the event’s organizers, they were met with hostility and were told they were unwelcome, forcing them to organize a separate event.

A Jewish man who tried to join the main event was forcibly ejected simply because he was Jewish and was then escorted away by police.

Josh Howie, reporting live from the scene, said that “the Jews had to basically come on our own march,” adding that relatives of the original marchers and even one old man who had marched at the Battle of Cable Street attended the Jewish event.

“We have the relatives here of the people who attended 90 years ago who fought back against the fascists,” he said. “I marched next to a man, Michael. He’s 94 years old. He was here on that very day, yet it’s shameful that Unite the Unions, who are also organizing another march, which is just running parallel to us, basically could not guarantee the safety of the Jews and the relatives of the Jews who were here 90 years ago.”
