DISGUSTING: Anti-Israel Students Choose Oct. 7 for Walkout
The Dawson College chapter of Solidarity for Palestinian Human Rights (SPHR) is organizing an Oct. 7 walkout for Wednesday at 1:30, with a flyer instructing attendees to enter through the De Maisonneuve Entrance of the college in Montreal, Quebec.
In its social media post promoting the event, the group, which uses the Hamas red triangle as its logo, said that the walkout will mark three years of “genocide” and “resistance,” adding that the student group refuses to be “silenced.”
Critics have said that “resistance” is merely a euphemism for terrorism.
The event will “mark 3 years of genocide, and 3 years of resistance of our people in Gaza,” the statement said. “The student movement has stood resilient in the face of the increased repression and punitive measure by our government and administrations to discourage students from standing against the zionist entity.”

“We, the students, will not be intimidated into silence and continue to support the brave people of Palestine, we continue to struggle until the hour of liberation. The student intifada lives,” SPHR added. “Gaza remains our compass, and we will gather on October 7 to remind ourselves of the role of our movement, and show our support for Palestinian liberation.”
“As students, we must not forget,” the group declared. “Let us show the world that Palestine will not be forgotten and that our voices will not be silenced.”
SPHR also called on the school to cut ties with Israel.
“As Palestinians continue to face violence and displacement Gaza and the West Bank, the University of Calgary continues to call itself inclusive while maintaining ties and relationships that contribute to its complicity,” the group said.
“We’re calling on our university to take accountability its complicity,” it concluded.
Critics blasted anti-Israel events scheduled for Oct. 7.
“They could protest any day. They’re choosing Oct 7th for a reason,” one social media user posted.
“This is like walking out on 9/11…a hate-filled spit-in-the face of AMERICANS taken hostage on Oct 7 by terrorists and murdered,” posted another, adding that colleges should expel anyone who participates.
Human rights activist and Jewish advocate Emily Schrader agreed.
“Anyone ‘walking out’ on October 7th should not be allowed to return. Immediate expulsion for terror support,” she wrote.
