Clarkstown officials broke ground Tuesday afternoon on a new playground and splash pad in Central Nyack, marking the start of construction on the first-ever municipal playground in the area.
The groundbreaking ceremony was held at 49 Waldron Avenue, directly across from the Central Nyack Community Center, where the new recreational facility will create a centralized gathering space for local families and residents.
Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann was joined by members of the Town Board, other elected officials, and local residents for the ceremony. Officials delivered remarks highlighting the importance of bringing new recreational opportunities to Central Nyack and providing children and families with a dedicated recreational space in the heart of the community.
Once completed, the facility will feature both a playground and splash pad, complementing the activities already offered across the street at the Central Nyack Community Center.
The new facility will be named in honor of former New York State Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski, recognizing his years of public service and contributions to the community.
Tuesday’s ceremonial groundbreaking officially kicked off the project, with construction set to transform the property into a new community recreation space for Central Nyack residents.
