WATCH: Newly Released Footage Captures the Moment Oct. 7 Horror Poured Into Soroka Hospital

Oct 7, 2026·2 min read

Israeli broadcaster Kan News aired a documentary earlier this week featuring newly released security footage from Soroka Medical Center, part of Clalit Health Services in Beersheba, showing the chaos of the day and the frantic efforts to save the lives of critically wounded victims of the attack.

The documentary, titled “The Shift” and broadcast on Kan’s “Zman Emet” program, showed 674 patients arriving from the site of the massacre on Oct. 7, 2023, when hordes of Hamas terrorists infiltrated Israel and massacred hundreds of Israelis at the Nova Music Festival and kibbutzim near the border, killing about 1,200 people and taking 251 hostages.

The hospital, located in the largest city in Israel’s south, took the lead in treating the victims of the horrific massacre, treating hundreds of patients in one day, an unprecedented amount of care by any standards.

The security cameras show harrowing scenes of wounded victims streaming into the hospital, family members desperately searching for relatives, and the staff working tirelessly to treat patient after patient.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog called the film “a historical document,” saying “The film captures the scale of the trauma and the magnitude of the heroism on October 7th.”

Dr. Ori Galante, head of the internal medicine intensive care unit, said the film honors “the extraordinary people of Soroka, every single one of them, women and men, each in their own role, from the first cleaner to the last doctor.”

“These are people who put their own lives at risk, left their families at home, and rushed to the hospital that Saturday, driven by a deep inner conviction to help others, regardless of their religion, race, gender, or political beliefs,” Galante said.

“A hospital is not supposed to be able to function under circumstances like these. The reason we succeeded, and what made all the difference, was the people,” he added.
