Rockland Officials Join Forces to Get Residents Out to Vote

With Election Day approaching, a large group of local elected officials from across Rockland County joined together in written letter to remind residents to take part in the upcoming election.

The officials pointed to issues that affect residents on a local level, including schools, public safety, infrastructure, affordability and access to government services, which elections can have a direct impact on.

The letter also encourages parents to remind young adults who are newly eligible to vote.

For those who will not be home on Election Day, make arrangements ahead of time to vote by early voting or by mail.

New York’s 2026 General Election is Tuesday, November 3, with early voting taking place from October 24 through November 1. The voter registration deadline is October 24. For voters requesting an early-mail or absentee ballot by mail or through the online system, the application must also be received by October 24.

The joint message was signed by mayors and deputy mayors from New Square, Kaser, New Hempstead, Pomona, Wesley Hills, Spring Valley, Chestnut Ridge and Airmont, along with members of the Ramapo Town Board, Rockland County Legislature and village boards.
