Jerusalem Pharmacy Student Accused of Plotting Terror Attacks Against Jews Using Bombs and Deadly Poisons
A pharmacy student from Jerusalem’s Beit Hanina neighborhood has been indicted over allegations that he planned terrorist attacks against Jews using explosive devices and deadly poisons, according to an initial report on the case.
The student had already worked as a pharmacy assistant and frequently consumed content associated with Hamas and ISIS. The allegations describe plans for physical attacks, not simply the viewing of extremist material.
His pharmaceutical background adds a troubling dimension to the alleged poison plot. However, the initial account does not say that he poisoned patients, tampered with medication or used his workplace to obtain dangerous substances. It also does not identify the intended attack locations or establish how close the plans came to execution.

The reported consumption of Hamas and ISIS content does not, by itself, establish that either terrorist organization recruited him or directed the alleged plot. Those operational links, along with any alleged accomplices or materials recovered, remain unconfirmed in the information available.
Israeli authorities have previously uncovered alleged ISIS involvement among medical personnel. In a separate case announced in August 2024, the Shin Bet and police said a medical intern at Soroka Medical Center had joined ISIS, pledged allegiance to the organization and intensively consumed its extremist content. Authorities confirmed that an indictment had been filed in that case.
The Beit Hanina report does not identify the defendant, his academic institution or the pharmacy where he worked. For now, the central allegation is a planned terrorist campaign against Jews involving both bombs and lethal poisons; the evidence and precise charges require the full indictment to establish.
