Tables Have Turned: Pro-Hamas Protesters Turn on Mamdani at 10/7 Memorial, Accuse Him of Genocide
NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani faced a hostile reception from anti-Israel protesters as he attended an October 7 memorial in Union Square, where demonstrators shouted that he was a “traitor” and a “coward”, in a striking twist of irony.
The protests delayed the memorial by approximately 40 minutes. At one point, demented demonstrators held up a photograph of Yahya Sinwar (yimach Shemo), the Hamas leader responsible for orchestrating the October 7 massacre.
As Mamdani departed, protesters followed him, continuing to hurl insults and calling him a coward and an opportunist.
Perhaps the most ironic moment came just hours after Mamdani accused Israel of “genocide” in his own October 7 statement. Protesters turned the same accusation against him, chanting: “Mamdani, you can’t hide, we charge you with genocide.”
Moshe Spern: “Mamdani got the campus treatment last night. He showed up at an Oct. 7 vigil in Union Square. His own protesters booed him, called him a traitor and a coward, and chanted “how many kids did you kill today?” He stood there with a candle, said nothing, and left with his security.
That is what Jewish students have lived with since Oct. 7. Booed. Blamed. Run off a memorial for a massacre, over a genocide libel. The mayor who spent years feeding that climate just got a taste of it. From the people he trained.”
