Jewish Author Says Pro-Hamas Mob BEAT Him Bloody — Then Police Hauled HIM Away
Award-winning Dutch Jewish cookbook author and journalist Jigal Krant was kicked and beaten by an explicitly pro-Hamas mob on Oct. 7 until he was bleeding, then hauled away by police for being the aggressor, according to his own account.
While there is no video footage of the assault as of this writing, there is video of the protest at the train station where the incident occurred.
“Just been besieged, kicked, and beaten by a terrorist Hamas mob at Utrecht Centraal. Until I was bleeding. I had verbally expressed my displeasure. The police left the mob alone and forcibly removed me and demanded my details,” he posted on X.
“I HATE THIS COUNTRY. I HATE IT,” he wrote.
In a fuller statement of the account, Krant said that a mob blocked the entrance to Utrecht Central Station, the Netherlands’ largest train station, forcing him and other commuters to walk through the crowd.
“A day full of pent-up tension came to a head,” he said in a statement on X. “The hateful and hurtful slogans, and the signs and banners with blatant lies, became too much for me.” At that point, he tugged on a flag and expressed his feelings about the mob’s position, telling them that Oct. 7 was the wrong time to “spew their hatred.” He insisted that he did not physically attack anyone or damage any flags.
At the same moment, five or six Moroccan youths rushed him and beat him until he bled, leaving him with a swollen leg, some abrasions, and pain in his arm. He then said that police who had observed the incident hauled him away as the perpetrator.
Krant wrote that this incident “strengthens my conviction that there is no longer a future for us Jews in the Netherlands.”
“The institutions are once again happily falling into step with evil, just as they did 80 years ago,” he said. “How could the municipality of Utrecht have given its approval for this on October 7? Why do the police blindly take the side of that rabble? Why are signs saying ‘we support Hamas’ tolerated?”
JBN reached out to Krant, but he did not wish to comment further on this story.
