Mispallelim at Bais Medrash Divrei Yoel d’Satmar have been presented with two proposed layouts for the new shul building currently under construction, and were asked to share their preference before the final plans are decided.

With the continued growth of the mispallelim, the hanhalah undertook the project of building a larger and more spacious building to accommodate the needs of the kehilla.

Two layouts have now been presented, each offering a different arrangement for the main shul, weekday davening and other facilities.

According to the first option, the main shul would be on the entrance level and serve as a Bais Medrash during the week, with four separate shtieblach for tefillah. Two of the shtieblach could be opened into the main shul on Shabbos to accommodate the larger crowd. The lower level would include a mikvah and additional facilities that could provide an ongoing source of income for the shul.

The second option would divide the main shul into four larger and more spacious shtieblach during the week, with the Bais Medrash and mikvah located on the lower level. While this layout would offer more room for weekday davening, it would require the shul to be rearranged each week for Shabbos, and would not include the same income-generating facilities.

Mispallelim had until the end of the week to submit their preference, with the final layout to be determined according to the majority of responses.

Once the plans are finalized, work on the new building will continue.
