Another Airline Is BACK: British Airways Sets Date for Israel Return

Oct 9, 2026·2 min read

British Airways plans to resume flights to Tel Aviv beginning Oct. 25, joining other major carriers that have been gradually restoring service since the disruption to their operations in February due to the Iran war.

For example, Delta and United Airlines resumed operations in early September, with Delta offering one daily flight from John F. Kennedy International Airport and United offering two daily flights from Newark Liberty International Airport, following the resumption of flights by major European airlines just in time for the Jewish holiday season.

While travelers are hoping this means a drop in airfare prices, travel agents are cautioning that price drops will take time and will likely not take effect until after the holiday season.

In an interview at the time with an Israel-based outlet, Mark Feldman, CEO of Jerusalem’s Ziontours, noted the discrepancy in pricing between the two major airlines.

“It is curious that while Delta has aggressively been marketing their return with attractive fares, United has taken the opposite approach,” he said. “They have priced their flights for the remainder of 2026 at very high prices in their economy, Premium Economy and Business classes.”

American Airlines is still holding off on providing service until the spring.

Unlike its previous service of two daily flights between London Heathrow Airport and Ben-Gurion International Airport, British Airways will now offer only one daily flight, but tickets are already available for purchase.
