President Donald Trump announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to release substantial quantities of diesel fuel into American and international markets, saying the move could help ease soaring energy prices amid the ongoing war with Iran.
“Russia will immediately supply over 300,000 Tons of Diesel Fuel to the American and Global Marketplace, another 500,000 Tons during the month of November,” Trump says on social media following talks with Putin.
The US Treasury Department said it is granting a temporary license allowing Russian diesel fuel to enter global markets, facilitating the planned shipments.
