Drivers in Williamsburg should prepare for major overnight road closures near Broadway and South 8th Street beginning October 14, as work gets underway in the area.

Broadway will be fully closed between Roebling Street and Havemeyer Street, while South 8th Street will be fully closed between Roebling Street and Broadway.

The closures will take place nightly from 11:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m., beginning Wednesday, October 14, and continuing through November 6.

North Shore Neon Sign LLC will carry out the work as part of an MTA contract. Crews will use a crane and other large equipment to remove and install concession signs and billboards in the area.

Drivers traveling through the area during the overnight hours should expect disruptions and use alternate routes while the closures are in effect.
