Polish security officials are examining a reported threat involving Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, following information received by police, the Interior Ministry announced Sunday.
The investigation comes amid heightened security concerns in Poland after a series of violent incidents at schools, including one on Thursday that claimed the life of a school caretaker.
Interior Ministry spokesperson Karolina Galecka said senior government officials had instructed the relevant security services to take action in response to the reported threat.
She identified Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński and special services coordinator Tomasz Siemoniak among the officials overseeing the response, alongside Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz.
Authorities scheduled a meeting for 11 a.m. Sunday at the Internal Security Agency’s Counter-Terrorism Centre to address the matter.
Officials have not yet publicly disclosed further details about the nature or credibility of the suspected threat. The investigation remains ongoing.
