Yemen’s Houthi movement has urged airlines, maritime operators and travelers to avoid Saudi airports and airspace following a deadly attack in Riyadh that reportedly killed 12 people and injured hundreds more.
“The Yemeni armed forces renew their warning to all aviation and navigation companies, experts, staff, workers, and travellers against using Saudi airports and airspace,” Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree says on X.
“The airports and airspace are exposed to targeting and constitute a theatre of operations for our forces, with the exception of the airports of Mecca and Medina,” the spokesman adds, identifying the two important Islamic cities as exceptions to the warning.
