Motorists traveling through Lakewood should prepare for overnight road closures on Route 9 this week as crews carry out repaving work.

According to the Lakewood Police Department, an NJDOT contractor will be performing repaving operations along Route 9 between Central/Hurley Avenue and 3rd Street.

The affected section of Route 9 will be completely closed in both directions on Monday, October 12, and Tuesday, October 13, from 11:00 PM until 7:00 AM the following morning.

Detours will be in place throughout the closures to redirect traffic around the work zone.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow additional travel time, and use alternate routes to avoid delays.
