JERUSALEM (VINnews) — The Israeli military on Sunday released footage it said shows armed Hamas operatives inside Kamal Adwan Hospital and planting an explosive device outside the facility in Jabalia, northern Gaza.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, the hospital continues to operate as a medical clinic during daytime hours while serving as a major hub for Hamas terrorist activity. The IDF said Hamas is using the hospital and surrounding area to advance attacks and rebuild capabilities, exploiting patients, medical staff and civilians as human shields in violation of international law.

The military stated that Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad have used the site in recent years to plan and carry out attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers, despite repeated Israeli appeals to stop using medical facilities for military purposes.

In December 2024, IDF troops operated in the area around the hospital, locating extensive military equipment and weapons. Forces apprehended more than 240 Hamas and Islamic Jihad operatives, along with additional suspects, the IDF said.

The newly released material includes video of armed individuals inside the hospital, footage of operatives planting an explosive device outside the facility, and a January 2025 interrogation video in which a captured Hamas member describes activities in the hospital’s surroundings.
