Monsey Chussen Released to House Arrest After Four Months in Israeli Prison
A Monsey chosson who spent approximately four months in an Israeli prison has been ordered released to house arrest following extensive legal efforts coordinated by the Tzedek organization.
According to information shared with Rockland Daily by Rabbi Moshe Margaretten, Israel's Supreme Court President Yitzhak Amit ordered the release of Eliyahu Laven, bringing a significant development in a case that has drawn efforts from askanim and legal representatives.
The release follows months of work, which arranged for prominent Israeli attorney Uri Korb to represent Laven. Korb worked alongside attorney Menachem Stauber in pursuing the legal proceedings that ultimately resulted in the house arrest decision.
As part of the release conditions, Tzedek submitted a check for one million Israeli shekels to the High Court as financial security.
In addition, Reb Shimon Shisha, chairman of Merkaz Ezra V'Yeutz, made his apartment available to serve as the designated location where Laven will remain under house arrest.
