A bomb threat was called into the Betty and Marvin Zale Early Childhood Learning Center in Boca Raton, Fla., Monday, prompting the evacuation of the school and another educational facility nearby.

A student from the nearby Katz Yeshiva High School, which was not one of the facilities evacuated, told The Jerusalem Post that “I was in my classroom during English and we just had an announcement on the loudspeaker that there was a bomb threat at the school next door to us. Traffic was blocked, because they weren’t letting any vans or cars in for carpool.”

“They told us we needed to stay inside for a while, and they’d tell us when it was time to come out,” he added.

The Adolph & Rose Levis Jewish Community Center, also in the area, issued a statement later saying that the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office had determined there was no credible threat.

“We are deeply grateful for the swift, professional, and coordinated response of Federation Campus Security, PBSO, and our campus leadership teams,” the JCC said in its statement.

“Most importantly, all students and staff remained safe throughout the incident, and all students were successfully reunited with their families,” it said.

The Jewish advocacy group StopAntisemitism called for a probe into the incident, demanding a full prosecution of the caller, whose identity remains unknown.

“Breaking — a bomb threat has been reported at the Betty and Marvin Zale Early Childhood Learning Center in Boca Raton,” the group posted on X. “No child should have to face this kind of terror at school.”

“Whoever is responsible should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” the group declared.

A parent at the school expressed outrage online, saying that this will not intimidate the parent body.

“To the scumbag who called in a bomb threat at my kids’ Jewish school In Boca Raton today: screw you!” the parent wrote on X. “You will not intimidate us! I hope they catch you and throw you in prison!”
