Kettle & Cord, the home goods store located at 390 Kingston Avenue, has announced it will close its doors after 10 years in business, marking the end of a decade serving Crown Heights residents with household essentials, kitchenware, appliances and other home products.
In an announcement to customers, the store’s owners expressed gratitude for the relationships they built throughout the years, saying that the connections with customers, friends and neighbors had become the most meaningful part of operating the business.
“Ten years ago, we opened Kettle & Cord hoping to build a store that would serve our community well,” the owners wrote. “As we prepare to close our doors, what we are most grateful for is the relationship we built with all of you.”
The owners thanked customers who shopped at the store, recommended it to friends and family, and returned over the years for their household needs. They also reflected on the opportunity the business provided to support the community in various ways, describing that involvement as one of the most meaningful aspects of owning the store.
“Having the store also gave us opportunities to give back and support the community in many different ways,” they wrote. “Your support made those opportunities possible, and we are deeply grateful that this business allowed us to contribute to a community that has given us so much.”
Kettle & Cord developed a broad selection of products for the home, including cookware, dinnerware, kitchen gadgets, small appliances, household supplies and other everyday necessities. Its location on Kingston Avenue made it a neighborhood destination for residents looking to furnish and maintain their homes.
The store also offered services tailored to local customers, including arrangements for local delivery and toiveling, helping residents prepare kitchenware for use in accordance with Jewish law.
The owners acknowledged that the decision to close comes with sadness, while emphasizing their appreciation for the decade they spent serving the community.
As part of the closing, Kettle & Cord will hold a sale for approximately 10 days, offering significant discounts on remaining merchandise as the store works to sell through its inventory. Customers are invited to visit during the sale and take advantage of the savings while bidding farewell to the neighborhood business.
“To our customers, friends, and neighbors: thank you for welcoming us, supporting us, and allowing Kettle & Cord to be part of your lives and homes,” the owners wrote.
