A new app called Shtetly is bringing together what Lakewood residents look up every day: minyanim, zmanim, kosher restaurants and stores, and Hatzolah and emergency numbers, all in one place.

Instead of texting a WhatsApp group to find a Mincha and checking a website for candle lighting, Shtetly shows it together: the next minyan near you and today’s zmanim. Kosher listings show the hechsher, and a weekly grocery feature compares prices across local stores.

Shtetly is free for everyone, with no sign-up. It works on any phone through shtetly.com and can be added to the home screen like a regular app. It also covers Monsey, Brooklyn, Baltimore, Montreal, Toronto and more, with a Traveling mode for zmanim and minyanim away from home anywhere in the US.

“We built Shtetly because finding a minyan or a kosher place shouldn’t take five apps,” said Dovid of the Shtetly team.

Anyone can suggest a missing minyan or business right in the app. Shtetly is available now at shtetly.com.
